Dr. Billy Ray Shows, I, 80, of Newton, Mississippi, passed away Friday, May 7, 2021, at his home. He was born Saturday, December 7, 1940, in Richton, Mississippi.

Dr. Shows attended his medical residency at University Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Afterwards, he opened a medical clinic serving the community of Pelahatchie, MS. He then moved to Newton, MS where he served as a Family Medical Practitioner at Shows Medical Clinic. Dr. Shows also practiced emergency medicine extensively throughout the state of Mississippi. Dr. Shows was an accomplished welder, electrician, and pilot.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Thomas and Laura Shows; son, Billy Ray Shows, II; two sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Shows; daughters, Connie Williams (George) and Regina McNeill (Roy); grandchildren, Billy Ray Shows, III, Ryan Shows, Makayla Williams, Matthew McNeill, Ethan McNeill, Sarah McNeill, and Easten Williams; great-grandchildren, Noah Shows, Raina Shows, and Edward Shows; four sisters and one brother.
