Billy Bryan Gibbon, 91, of Newton, Mississippi, died Sunday, October 20, 2019 in Newton, Mississippi. He was born Saturday, March 17, 1928 in Hickory, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home- North in Newton, MS. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Mount Vernon Baptist Church and the Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Bro. Wayne Hemmingway and Bro. He was preceded in death by his parents, Opie and Elsie Gibbon; son, Bryan Gibbon; brother, Joe Gibbon; sister, Jean Johnson.

Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Emma Lucille Gibbon; sons Keith Gibbon (Judy) and Wayne Johnson (Jennifer); daughters, Cynda Barfield (Wick), Rita Gibbon, and Cheryl Dubose (Phillip); grandchildren, Matt Gibbon, Seth Gibbon, Trea Barfield, Garrett Dubose, Tami Carlisle, Kerry Hutchinson, Stephanie Gibbon, Grace Johnson, and Paige Johnson; great-grandchildren, Jackson Gibbon, Alex Laird, Kimber Barfield, Taylor Scharer, Landry Godwin, Joseph Hutchinson, Anna Claire Hutchison, Sydney Brown, Rylee Brown, and Walter Brown; and great-great-grandchild,  Liam Scharer.

Pallbearers will be Matt Gibbon, Seth Gibbon, Trea Barfield, Garrett Dubose, Bill Boulton, and Paul Boulton.
