Bessie Pearl Stamper Johnston, age 85, passed away on February 14, 2018.

Bessie was born in Newton, MS to Louis and Velma Stamper.

She is survived by son, Dennis Johnston (Rita); daughter, Betty Sheely (Tommy); son, Ottis Johnston; grandchildren, Laya Vaughn (Matt), Ginna Freeman (Brad), Mandi Alford (Jason), Rodney Meaders; Thomas Johnston and Emma Grey; 6 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Chris Wall, Matt Vaughn, Brad Freeman, Austin Freeman, Mark Kilgore and Ricky Kilgore.

She was preceded in death by parents Louis and Velma Stamper.

Visitation will be held Sunday, 18th of February, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Mount Vernon Baptist Church with funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Mount Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery.
