Bennie Dan Walker, Jr. "Dannie", age 59, passed away at his home in Hickory on April 30, 2018.

Dannie was born on July 12, 1958 in Union, MS to Bennie Dan and Virginia Walker. Dannie married Tammie Lott of Hickory, Mississippi on September 23, 1980.

Dannie traveled the world as a directional driller, where he will always be known as one of the best. He enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren. Dannie cherished his wife and the time they spent traveling. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his quotes, "it is what it is" and "if you are gonna be a bear, be a big one".

He is survived by his wife, Tammie Walker; daughter, Ginger Walker Little; son, Ben Walker (Kristen); grandchildren, Braiden Walker, Gianna Little and Blaine Walker; father, Bennie Walker, Sr.; sister, Debbie Belk (Freddie) and brother, Reagan Walker.

Pallbearers will be Joe Alexander, J.R. Addy , Jamie Slay, Josh Westbrook, Mike Brackeen and Allen Ferguson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Crocker, Harold Shoemaker, Directional Drilling Crew and the men of GUBC .

He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Walker and his father-in-law, Harry Eason.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home-South. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Grace United Baptist Church with Bro. Gary Felton and Bro. Jamie Leach officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory City Cemetery in Hickory, Mississippi.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Grace United Baptist Church youth fund.
