Barbara Jones, 72 of Newton, MS, died Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Bedford Care Center in Newton, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, on Friday, September 5, 2014 at Newton County Funeral Home - South in Newton, MS. Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery , Lake, MS. Newton County Funeral Home North, Hwy 15 North, Newton, MS is in charge of arrangements 601-635-3200.

Mrs. Jones was a life long resident of Newton County, MS and a member of Sand Springs Baptist Church. She retired from ESCO in Newton after 30 years of service. She will be remembered for her love of family, especially her grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: parents James Otis and Luvie Winstead Porter.

Survivors Include: Husband: Johnny Jones, of Newton, MS; sons: Jimmy Jones of Lawrence, MS, John Jones (Kim), of Hickory, MS and Chris Jones of Newton, MS; grandchildren: Ryan Collison, Lee Jones, Dana Jones, Bryce Jones, Caleb Jones, Kaylee Jones, Porter Jones and Ava Jones; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers: Bobby Porter (Delores), Sam Porter (Katie), Homer Porter and William Porter (Gloria); sisters: Sarah Hollingsworth (Dale), Helen Griffin (William), Delma Posey (Johnny), Jenny McGee (Danny)and Mary Bounds (David)and a numerous number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers: Lee Jones , Dana Jones, Caleb Jones, Sammy Griffin, Scott Bounds, Norris Porter, Tony Porter and Steven McGee.

Visitation will be held from 5:00pm - 8:00pm on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Newton County Funeral Home South Chapel in Newton, MS.
