Funeral services for Arlen A. Mabry will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 11:00 am at Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Rock Hill Cemetery under the direction of Newton County Funeral Home.

Dr. Aaron Parker and Bro. Ben Laird will officiate.

Music for the service will be provided by Mrs. Dana Mayerhoff and Bro. Jason Archie.

Mr. Mabry, age 71 of Meridian, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023 at his residence. He was a heavy equipment operator and a cattle farmer. He was a hard working, selfless,honest man.  He was a Christian by testimony of his faith and a faithful member of Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as longtime treasurer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hulon and Hazel Freeman Mabry.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Jerra Archie Mabry of Meridian;  one son, Brent Mabry (Megan) of Meridian;  one daughter, Anna Slay (Garrett) of Collinsville; three grandchildren, Judd Mabry, Joel Mabry and Madalyn Mabry; one brother, Zelton Mabry; two sisters, Donna Kennedy (Tony) of Quitman and Dinah Rogers (Thurman) of Chunky; one aunt, Delois Burnett of House; one uncle: Huey Freeman of Meehan; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Josh Lang, Brandon Mabry, Caleb Haney, Maston McMahan, Chris Dozier, and Jason Archie.

Honorary pallbearer will be Will Roberts.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at the church on Saturday.
