Obituary

Annie P. Rucker, 93 of Decatur, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, November 16, 2013 at River Birch Estate in Union.

Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Newton County Funeral Home North with Rev. Rodney Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Newton County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 5 P.M. - 7 P.M. on Monday, November 18, 2013, and on Tuesday thirty minutes before the services at the funeral home.

Newton County Funeral Home North, 9998 Hwy. 15 North, Newton, is in charge of arrangements 601-635-3200.

She lived in Meridian until 1986 and moved to Decatur with her husband, Herbert. While in Meridian, they were members of 41st Avenue Baptist Church, Oakland Heights Baptist Church and Westwood Baptist Church. She taught the children's Sunday School class for many years. She was retired from the Meridian Public Schools as cafeteria manager for several schools after 30 years of service. She was a member of Hickory Baptist Church for 27 years. She was gentle and kind and was devoted to Christ, her family, and friends. She was member of Newton County Gideons Auxiliary.

Survivors include one daughter: Ann R. Herrington, and husband, I.D. of Decatur; one son: William J. Rucker, Sr., and wife, Susan of Fortson of Georgia; three grandchildren: Sonjia Herrington, Scott Herrington and William J. Rucker, Jr. ; one great-grandchild: William J. Rucker, III; one sister: Bobbie May of Collinsville; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends

She was preceded in death by her husband: Herbert L. Rucker; parents: D.B. "Bud" and Birdie Watson Partin; one brother: George Partin and one sister: Madelia Talbert.

Pallbearers: Scott Herrington, Bobby Butler, Bobby Munn, Lowery McGee, Jim Cates, and
Gerald Goodin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hickory Baptist Church, P.O. Box 219, Hickory, MS 39332 or The Gideons International, Inc. Newton County Gideon Camp, P.O. Box 297, Newton, MS 39345.
