Alton Gressett Chaney, 85, of Little Rock, MS died Monday, April 25, 2016. He was born Friday, May 16, 1930 in Little Rock, MS.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home - North. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Newton County Funeral Home - North in Newton, MS. Burial will follow in Beulah Baptist Church in Decatur, MS. Bro. Gary Rivers and Bro. Mark McDonald will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home - North is in charge of arrangements. (601)635-3200
Mr. Chaney will be remembered for the love he showed toward his family. He enjoyed drinking coffee at Hardee's and also playing cards with Gage.
He will truly be missed by all that knew him.
He is preceded in death by his Parents, Alvin Gressett and Fannie McGrew Chaney; Son - David Curtis Chaney; Sister, Christine Chaney Pittman; Son, James Darren Estes.
Survivors include his Wife of 38 years, Mary Jane Chaney; Sons, Alton Dewayne Chaney and James Alvin Chaney; Daughter, Dawn Estes Jenkins; Grandchildren: K.C. Chaney, Angela Chaney, Jennifer Chaney, Joseph Chaney and Gage Morrison.
