Gloria Young, 51, of Newton died Monday, April 30, 2012 at the University of Missisippi Medical Center in Jackson.

Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. , on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Newton County Funeral Home – North Chapel with Rev. Gary Felton officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church Cemetery in Crystal Springs at 12:30 P.M.

Visitation will be held from 5 P.M. - 8 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Newton County Funeral Home, North Chapel, 9998 Hwy. 15 N, is in charge of arrangements.

Gloria was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a mail carrier in Meridian at the time of her passing. She enjoyed spending lots of time with her granddaughters. She was avid fan of the Braves, those from Atlanta and Jackson, repsectively. She was also a fan of MS State Bulldogs. She enjoyed playing computer games. She will be missed by her family and friends.

Preceded in death by her brother, Lance, Gloria is survived by her parents: Burnett & Joan Young of Newton; her daughter: Andrea Carter of Decatur; two grand-daughters: April & Genesis; one sister: Angelia Boler of Lake; special friend: Robert Rainer of Newton; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews

Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
